About the Island…

Folly Beach has always been part of coastal South Carolina’s history and charm.  Nestled between the Folly River and the Atlantic Ocean, we are just 10 minutes from historic Charleston, locals refer to it as “the Edge of America”.  When you wake up in the morning, you’ll enjoy the sunrise on the beach and finish your day watching the sunset on the Folly River.  On the northeastern tip of the island, you’ll find an outstanding view of the Morris Island Lighthouse.  For the sportsman, you can fish from the Edwin S. Taylor Pier which extends over 1,000 feet into the Atlantic Ocean.

From fine dining and fresh seafood to home-style casual dining and satisfying sandwiches, you’ll enjoy some of the best food during your stay here on Folly Beach.  You also may wish to browse local shops for unique clothing, jewelry, artwork, sports gear, and more.

No matter what your interests are, fishing, kayaking, surfing or relaxing on the beach, you can find it here all year long.  There is simply no place like Folly Beach …the “Edge of America”.
