Folly Beach Boat – A Long Standing Tradition

If you’ve ever visited Folly Beach chances are you’ve noticed the boat parked on the side of Folly Rd as you’re driving down to the island. This boat washed up after Hurricane Hugo and not only has it never left it’s spot but it’s become a symbol for Folly Beach with it’s own dedicated website too, Follyboat.com. As a local I’ve seen countless different designs and writings adorned upon its wood.  There’s been birthday wishes, wedding proposals, memorials, event listings, and some incredible artwork. If you ever get the chance this is a great way to leave something behind after your trip ends.

Folly Beach boat painted with the writing good luck carly, folly will miss you.

I got my own send-off on the boat last year and what a great surprise it was!
