Calling all the monsters to join us for Follyween!

It’s going to be a fun, eventful weekend here on Folly

that you don’t want to miss!

Before the weekend celebration begins, there will be a pumpkin carving event at The Washout restaurant starting at 6pm on Wednesday. There will be live music from 6-9pm as well as the weekly art village where you can shop with local artists and vendors. Then, kicking off the holiday weekend, starting at 11am on Saturday, we have the annual witches dance followed by a costume contest at the Folly Beach County Park.

Between 1pm-8pm on Saturday, The Washout will be hosting a college football BBQ followed by their Halloween bash. Between the 18 TV screens, you’re sure to see the game of your liking while enjoying beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, or even hot sausage. On the stage will be Big Stoner Creek, so prepare to hit the dance floor. Once 8 o’clock rolls around, the Halloween bash will commence, so be sure to wear your best costume for a chance to win some prizes. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Warrior Surf Foundation which prides themselves in providing free therapy to veterans through surfing, yoga, and wellness coaching.

On Halloween day, the 11th annual SUPer Scary SUP race will be hosted by Charleston SUP safaris. You’ll be able to hit the water with your paddle board while indulging in a little friendly competition. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in their costumes for the holiday event. Registration starts at 8am at 83 Center Street and they will have paddle boards available for rent. The elite and novice race will start at 9 with the kids race at 11 followed by the dog race at 11:30. There will also be a silent auction and a Getaway on Folly Beach raffle. To wrap it all up, the after party will be located outside of the Irish pub, St. James Gate.
