2020 Festival Of Trees

Get ready to feel the joy of the holiday season at the Inaugural Festival of Trees! Hosted by Explore Charleston, the event benefits the cancer patients, survivors and supporters of Dragon Boat Charleston. Held at the beautiful and newly renovated Charleston Visitor’s Center on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, the free event will feature 20 themed and decorated trees. Each tree is lovingly decorated in honor or memory of someone who has battled cancer. Local Charlestonians and visitors alike will stroll through the event and have the opportunity to bid and vote on trees online to support Dragon Boat Charleston — and reading the stories at each tree is a treat in itself! The event also includes a beautiful menorah display in honor of Hanukkah.

Charleston Holiday Market

Join us as the Charleston Farmers Market extends hours for the Holiday Season on Saturdays & Sunday, 9am-3pm in the Heart of the Historic District, Marion Square!
COVID protocols will be in place at the markets including additional spacing between vendors, hand washing/sanitizing stations and the requirement that all vendors and patrons wear masks and maintain social distancing throughout the events. The markets will feature 36 vendors on Saturdays and 24 vendors on Sundays including farm products, packaged food vendors, artisans and crafters.

Holiday Laser Lights

Theodora Park is the only small City park with holiday lights. And the lights themselves are unique in Charleston: a combination of magical little laser lights that look like jewels spread across the ‘floor’ of the park, combined with strings of equally magical globe-like lights that exist nowhere else. This year, the laser lights will be even more spectacular and we are doing something VERY special for just this one year. On the walls of the park and the palmetto tree trunks – we will be projecting words: inspirational, aspirational messages of hope.

Holiday Parade At Magnolia

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens is hosting our FIRST EVER Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 5th 2020 at 11am. The Parade will start at our Children’s Garden and will march down our iconic Oak Alley. Bring your chairs and blankets, grab a hot chocolate from the Peacock Café and enjoy some Christmas magic. Santa will be having a socially distanced meet and greet immediately following the parade in the Children’s Garden, so make sure to stick around!
We would love to have you participate in the parade! Businesses, dance groups, bands, floats and more are ALL welcome! We want to bring the community together and help spread the Christmas cheer.
