I like to say to visitors who come to Charleston “ You will never go hungry or thirsty in Charleston!” which is never more true than now. Do you know how many  breweries there are in Charleston? Go ahead and guess, I’ll wait…..32! Yes ladies and gentlemen, there are 32 locally owned  breweries in this part of the low country. Now, am I going to tell you about all of them? No, but I will tell you about the ones closest to us and some of our personal favorites.

Fam’s Brewing Co. –  Located at 1291 Folly Rd. this place is a hop, skip and jump away. Holding the title as James Island’s only brewery it’s a must see on your way to Folly beach.

Low Tide Brewing  – Located on Johns Island, this brewery holds many accolades and Charleston locals hearts. They host many events and there are new brews on tap regularly; this also happens to be my supervisors favorite brewery so it is highly recommended. This is definitely worth a stop.

Edmund’s Oast  – Edmund’s Oast brewery is coupled with a restaurant. Known for its extensive beer list, this Brewery is a must see, must do and must drink.

Holy City Brewing I’ve seen their trucks zoom all over Charleston for years now, Holy City brewing makes this city who it is. With fun names like Pluff Mud Porter, Overly Friendly IPA, and Washout Wheat you are sure to have a good time.

Revelry BrewingRevelry spews fun, I mean the building is made out of shipping containers! This brewery is the love child of two former bike taxi drivers and two Charleston lovers turned residents.

Palmetto Brewing Company  – Located downtown at 289 Huger St.,  Palmetto is in the middle of all the fun. This place should be on your must visit list.
