Did ya’ll hear that thunderstorm we had this morning? This recent flooding was due to the rain and our extra high tides brought on by November’s full moon aka The Beaver Moon. Random fun fact: According to folklore, the Full Moon in November is named after beavers who become active while preparing for the winter. It is also known as Frosty Moon, and along with the December Full Moon some called it Oak Moon. And in addition to that, the whole southeast region has been experiencing rainy, stormy days that have been dragging on and on and on…where is the sun?? This weather has unfortunately postponed or cancelled many of the holiday events occurring in Folly Beach and Charleston. Here are some of the updated events that have been rescheduled due to all of this December Rain (kind of sounds like a possible song or band name?-what do ya’ll think?)

-The Folly River Park Tree Lighting will now be Friday December 7th at 6PM
-Charleston City Christmas Parade will now be Dec 16th
-Marion Square tree lighting ceremony is cancelled until further notice
-Marion Square Farmers Market will start next Sunday December 9th
-North Charleston’s Christmas Parade is now December 8th
-Thrifters and Drifters Market has been postponed until further notice
