The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission has reopened the new, reconstructed pier on Folly Beach.
The Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier was closed to the public on Oct. 19, 2020 for a complete rebuild that was expected to take a little over two years, but the work was finished ahead of schedule and the pier reopened on December 26th, 2023.
Amenities at the Folly Beach Pier include:
- Restrooms
- Pier 101 Restaurant and Bar
- Beach Access
- Showers
- Gangplank Gift & Tackle Shop
- Fishing Rod Rentals
Special events are also scheduled to return such as the Moonlight Mixers and fishing tournaments.
Operating hours are currently 8am until sunset, but vary throughout the year.The Pier’s parking lot will undergo renovations for a brief period this month. During this time, the parking lot, pier, restrooms, gift shop, beach access, and restaurant will be closed.
